Life As We Knew It
The book I Read for my English project was Life as We Knew It. This book is the best I’ve read in a while. The main story starts with this big phenomenon when the moon gets hit by an asteroid. Everyone thought it was cool and nothing would happen afterwards, but scientists miss judged the size of the asteroid. The story follows a 16 year old girl named Miranda and is written in the form of her diary. You only know what she sees, so the story is interesting to find what she knows and doesn’t tell people.
I really liked the plot of the story. I’ve always been interested in astronomy and apocalyptic stories. This stuck out to me because it was the view of some one my age and some struggles I couldn’t imagine going through. I didn’t like the book when it got towards the middle because all of the action died off and they were pretty much doing the same thing every day and didn’t have any new problems. The action picked back up towards the last 75- 100 pages when the winter was finally ending. Overall I loved the book and would recommend it to any teen who like action, apocalyptic, and survivor stories. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who doesn’t like fast stories, or doesn’t like medical and disaster stories.
